The rankings guy is an idiot, plain and simple. He was ranked 4th behind, Weisjahn(whom he beat last year in the state semi's), Fields(whom he beat in the quarters last year and has been his whipping boy for years), and Freeman(whom has yet to finish better than 5th in three tries at state and I am not even sure he's going 119 this year). By the way you can view the match and all the other finals at Mishawaka, at this link broadcastsport.net/ZIPCode-AlSmith.htm .

It doesn't work in Firefox. If you right click the video and look at the properties you can download it.

Great match. I finally found a few to open it up and look through it. He does look very skinny but he seems to have enough in the tank to compensate. He doesn't appear to be none the weaker to Weisjahn. He got real lucky on not giving up nearfall points on the edge of the mat!

I don't know as much as these other section iv local yocals. But I think TN only qualified for states in cross country. Which is better than most, but not what he was made to do in life. I think the correct spelling is yokel , Pinhead!!!! And yes, Troy qualified for States, but wasn't what you'd consider an elite runner

He's fairly thick for his height and of course the kid he was wrestling is basically a midget so that made him look even taller. Like I said earlier he's gonna be a middle weight by the time he's done. He lifts regularly and will start filling out after the season.
I don't know if it was luck that he didn't give up back points or just being aware of where he was at. I think he shot too much in the match and against a top quality opponent you can't do that. I think by now he is in Weisjahn's head. I went to the Mishawaka open room in July with him and his dad(and one of my wrestlers) and watched Taylor not give up one single takedown to Weisjahn for the whole time(1.5-2hours). This was a week or two before Fargo and Weisjahn was training for that while Taylor was just lifting for football.

Thanks. Great seeing a shot of Hoffar. He hasn't changed a bit. On Williams, never knew him, but why didn't he continue as coach? Possibly coaching a 3 time state champion would be too good to pass up.
On March, what a great experience. There is a huge difference between Seniors in hs and Freshman. He backed up a bit and was a little timid with the exception of that very deep shot. But I think he begins to just overpower the competition this year. Ya agree?

He really turned the corner at state last year. When I saw him a couple times during the season you could tell he wasn't the Taylor I knew from the wrestling club. He had put a lot of pressure on himself to do VERY well. He always had the ability, I think he just said f-it and wrestled like he was capable at state. Once a teenager gains confidence its pretty deadly. Coyne is a top notch wrestler and you could definitely tell the difference between a senior and a freshman. If you look at the recent 4-timers like Tsirtsis, Escobedo, and Mauer, they never had anyone like Coyne in their weight classes their freshmany year.
On Rod(dy Roddy) Williams. He was a lay coach and from what I had heard the AD had told him that he needed to find a different job that worked better with wrestling. As far as I know he was at every practice and such, but am not sure what conflicts there were between his job and coaching wrestling. He still is at pretty much every EN meet and you can tell he deeply misses it. Williams is a very good coach, he coached at Norwell back in the late 90's and was successful there also. It wouldn't suprise me if he's back coaching somewhere(even EN) next year, he's too good of a coach to not be coaching.
P.S. Rod isn't the biggest fan of me since my senior year when we were wrestling Dekalb(he was an assistant at Dekalb) I raised the roof after my win.

Keep me posted. I can't rely on my asshole brother for anything.
How are your kids doing? I just kicked over to your site and gave it a run through. And looked at the rankings. March is #1 where he belongs. And one of your kids is ranked at 171#

We got 2nd in the ACAC today. Had 3 champs, wrestled good. We would have had to have a perfect day to win. We had 9 seeded wrestlers, 5 wrestled to their seeds, 3 above and only 1 below. Pretty good day if we can say that!
