Well to put all of the hyperbole of the minor leagues board in perspective, it was a fun match. But it did look like two HS kids..... albeit, good HS kids. You could see the potential in Mills with how strong he was, and some solid scrambling ability.

Oh, that was a really good ref. You could tell even from one match. You know how? I didn't notice him. What I mean by that is he adjusted to the match, so the only time he would get in the way of the camera is because that was his best position. This versus what you often see, especially at the HS level, of an official staking out his/her position, and rarely moving from there.

That was Mills senior year. One of a handful mini-weights - 108 - to rise to the top of the NCAA. But that was back when 118 existed.

Goddamn his half was tough. Even back then. All technique, not strength, on that half. Look at the way he uses leverage to make the guy flip right on to his back. Beautiful.

Another factoid - the vid is from his 1976 HS state championship.
The very next year he placed 3rd at the 1977 NCAA at 118.
