It is a well known fact that, as a whole, people that believe in God tend to have a happier and more meaningful life than those that do not believe in God. Apparently some think offering their children a happier and more fulfilling life is like swallowing poision. Such a horrible crime Unbiased link please?

Big the point isnt whether or not God exists the point that other people are attempting to indocrinate kids, simply because they are impressionable. They are taking on the Parents of kids and saying that they are doing wrong by their kids raising them in a Christian/religious home. Nobody has the right to target my kid thats the bottom line. I am the parent I will judge what is right for my family, I will give mychildren the ability to make their own decision. I will not have some asshole who has no idea what he is doing try to influence my child. THese people are going to cause major family strife if their message spreads, because kids want to rebell. So they are trying to save us from religion and at the same time they are going to ruine many families.

Oh, by the way, was it Christian God or Muslim God? Oh sorry, who am I kidding. Of course it was Christian God. The Christian and Muslim god are the same god.

Oh, by the way, was it Christian God or Muslim God? Oh sorry, who am I kidding. Of course it was Christian God. The Christian and Muslim god are the same god. And Jewish God fits in there as well. In fact, many other religions don't deny the existence of that God, just that he is the one true God. Back on the point of discussion as this one took off on a serious rabbit trail. One of the serious mistakes in the groups thought, is their interpretation of what they think is the "unforgivable sin." Even within Christendom, there is a great deal of debate on this.

I was going to get into that too Mike. I first wanted to see how people felt about others attempting to sway children away from the principles their Parents are giving them.

How are you so sure the Parents are giving the right principles?
Are you sure the parents never pass some terrible principles and prejudices on to their children?

Big are you qualified to tell a parent what the right principles are for their children?

Big are you qualified to tell a parent what the right principles are for their children? My qualifications are not at issue on this thread.

Sure they are when the point is nobody has the right to influence kids away from what their parents want them to believe. As long as it is not hate based or causes violence in society.

The truth is much of religion is hate/superiority based. Hate for science, hate for atheism, hate for other religions and so on.
I know you will say Christianity doesn’t teach that for example. However, we all know how people use religion for their own twisted purposes.

True Big but that still doesnt give anyone a right to attempt to influence someone elses kids. Especially by using a misinterpretation of the Bible

um... I'm pretty sure everyone does have the right to attempt to influence someone else's kids, unless there is a footnote in the constitution about speach not being free if it attempts to influence kids... if there is someone should probably let everyone who makes commercials/billboards/other adds know...

And the the D.A.R.E. program too?
About the philosophers who say there must be a supernatural explanation or god, they are in the very small minority. I really do not see how you can find many of the common ontological arguments (all things have a creator...etc) convincing at all. Again, there are some philosophers who do believe in a God and are Christian, but again, they are in the minority.
