Gas is only one component of the basket of goods the US consumer is concerned with. Inflation has been held in check, GNP continues to grow at a high rate, CPI is in good shape, unemployement is at historical lows. Bush trade policies and economic policies had something to do with that as well, no?

Wrong again Bushman.....China....moving to a market economy China started gobbling up the resources throughtout the world. It's a classic example of supply and demand. Same concrete, steel and copper. When China started buying instead of mining, prices zoomed globally.
Look it up jack.

Yet people are complaining about the distribution of wages. Just one little minor detail you left out.

Well, housing prices doubled and tripled across the country under Bush if you want to broaden the topic.

China would not do jack without US trade policies. Look at Chinese exports. US is the number 1 importer.

Oh yea, prices have not doubled under Bushy. Right now fuel is up 15% over 1999 - 15%/8 = 2%, that's less than inflation.
look that up too jack.

Under Clinton oil was $25-$30 per barrel. Now, in the 60s.

Under Clinton oil was $25-$30 per barrel. Now, in the 60s. Okay Under Clinton - $30 / bbl and $1.99 at the pump Under Bush $60 / bbl and $2.30 at the pump. Now who do you think is getting you the better deal ?

Yet people are complaining about the distribution of wages. Just one little minor detail you left out. Satiev, this "minor detail" hasn't been left out. Contini and I went back and forth for some time on income inequality. Apparently it didn't coincide with your worldview, so you didn't read it. Here is another link, if you care: www.cato-unbound.org/archives/february-2007/When statistics don't back up your case, you just ignore the statistics right?

So, what policies should Bush have implemented to diminish the law of supply and demand? Another country's demand pushes up the price of building goods, and that is somehow the fault of Bush's policies? Note: RYou, on second reading of your post, I now realize you might not have been responding to my post. If not, sorry for the smart-assitude. If you were, carry on.

Under Clinton, I vividly remember, I was buying gas for $0.99 at some gas stations in NJ in 95-96. Under Bush it is $2.30 in NJ, so yes, the prices doubled. You have a short memory RYOU.
Flop, housing prices doubling anfd tripling might be good for homeowners, but what about young people that want to buy a house?

Flop, Under clinton half of the middle class weren't complaining about the wages. Bush's policies that benefit the rich and his oil buddies have divided this nation.
