Hey I have a 2 yr old nuetered american bulldog. I am thinking about getting another. But im wondering as far as 2 dogs getting along well with minimal fighting or anything like that would it be better for me to get a female or male AB to go along with the one i have. Im not planning on breeding or anything so it will be fixed whether its a female or male. Which would get along better with my dog i have now? Or would it matter? My dog is very well behaved and trained. Although this breed does have a natural instinct in it to protect and can get territorial.

Get Jimi a female American Bulldog to hang with. As long as he is nutered and she spayed you will have no problems. I don't know what will happen when your roomie's Rottweiler gets into the mix. Jimi and he just might go at it again over the females company.

Hey BamBam thanks for the info. Thats basically what Gamberro told me on themat message board tonight also. He said if i introduced them properly it should be ok. The rottwieler died a few weeks ago from a battle with liver failure. The owner had him on meds and stuff for a while. The dog finally got really bad and the owner took him in and put him down. It was a sad day to see that happen. Thats the sad part about having dogs is that you are always going to outlive them, but they give you lots of memories that make up for it.

Best, Sorry to hear about the Rotty. There are very few things that give you as much enjoyment as a good Dog. It does hurt bad when that sad day comes along and you have to say goodbuy to your friend.
I'm glad you gave Gamberro the invite! He has now made the move and is one of us over here!
