C'mon fudge .... we miss that mugshot.
For some reason, I gotta feeling this board can be more "wide open" but the posters will probably realize what it is and figure things out for themselves rather than have a mod rip things down.

H and thank you very much Bambam! I'm of the belief what matters most often is the perspective we view life from...so all is well and will always be. Thanks to you and to the other fine people I count among my friends. You all are an integral part of the big picture.

Thank you, Scott. It's good to see familar faces (writing) on what appears to be better turf. I've been meaning to congratulate you and your daughter on nationals. Excellent accomplishment for her and wonderful commitment by you; both are awesome. I'm sure you're proud of her as you should be.

Hello good Brother PM01, Thank you for your kind words and invitation. I hope your recent challenges are dissipating like gray fog melting in the advance of a summer morning. What are you and your lady reading these days?

Welcome, bromojo. In case you've forgotten, I'll still be at that beach house in Rhode Island Labor Day week and the offer still stands if your plans have changed.

It's refreshing to see that you have found your way here, Brother Morris. Thanks for your posting, all goes very well. There are no poor men when surrounded by caring friends and family. I don't know what Spider's invitation may have been, but if I had it in me I'd make every effort to make it, that's a sure thing. My wife is reading some Chinese periodicals on art and poetry and I am reading a short book on Wordsworth. ...These steep and lofty cliffs, That on a wild secluded scene impress Thoughts of more deep seclusion; and connect The landscape with the quiet of the sky. --Wordsworth

Thank you for the kind words Mike. I admire your posts and should have told you sooner as well. By the way, congratulations are in order for your son and to you too. I read the "19 year old" thread on themat.com and was moved by your expression and the recovery your son made. A very good story that seems to be better with each passing year.

Thanks PM, I was frankly a little disturbed that someone would make the comments made without knowing the facts. I have been in communications lately with both Eric Grajales, and Riley Adamson and his family. When people are blasting away at minors, which they still are, and quite young, I lose some respect for them. I just wanted to state the facts and prove that the comment regarding my son was idiotic.

Welcome, bromojo. In case you've forgotten, I'll still be at that beach house in Rhode Island Labor Day week and the offer still stands if your plans have changed. Hey Brother Spider, Thanks for the welcome. I remember the invitation from last Fall, and I was thinking about you when my brood took our annual end of school trip to Block Island last month. Labor day is kind of a hectic (and meloncholy) weekend for us. My wife and I both work in schools, so the weekend represents the end of our summer and the beginning of the chaos of opening day, so its the one holiday that we tend to just veg out at home and prepare for the onslaught. Its a shame though. We LOVE RI and always fantasize about buying a home and retiring there some day. I can certainly imagine sitting on a porch, feet up on an apple barrel, glass of scotch in hand, debating the relative merits of east vs west coast wrestling with my favorite arachnid! Who knows! Brother PM01, Glad things are going well. I have been reading a John Irving book that someone on the old forum recommended - Trying to Save Piggy Sneed. It was perfect to read on Block Island as it is all about Irvings experiences as a prep school wrestler in New England. Lots of great references to Gable and 70's wrestlerspeak. Btw- my wife heard through the grapevine that an opera is being made based on some of the writings of our man Ha Jin! I'll give you more details when I get them. Best.
