GSP pulled a hammy and is out for the fight with Hughes. Lucky for us BJ Penn has been training and accepted the fight with Hughes. Needless to say Hughes is excited to even the score with Penn.
I still think Hughes wins but this will be a good fight. Now we may be looking at either a Sanchez v Koscheck or Sanchez v GSP.

This news really sucks! I have been waiting a long time for this rematch to take place. I think it was going to be a War! Hughes and GSP are at the top of their game right now. This fight has to happen in the near future! Hughes vs Penn is also a must see rematch but I think the other fight is the better match.

I agree Bam. But I would like to see GSP get his title shot at full strength. He is very young still, so he should be patient, and it will come. My concern now is for the Hughes and Penn fight. BJ has a long history of coming into fights in poor condition. It cost him against GSP when he gassed the last round. And now he is taking Matt Hughes on relatively short notice. Will he be in peak shape? Regardless, this is still a good fight, and I am willing to skip this month's pay per view, which I think is weak, and get UFC 63 instead. Other fights include David Loiseau against Mike Swick, and the return of Jens Pulver.

I posted this on the other site as well, wanted to see what you guys thought.
Who else sees the possibilities here? Hughes vs. Penn and Liddell vs. Sobral. Then later St. Pierre vs. Sanchez and Ortiz vs. Silva (if he actually is brought back to the cage). Setting up (in my opinion) Hughes vs. St. Pierre and Silva vs. Lidell. Assume for a moment Hughes and Silva win, setting up Hughes vs. Penn III, and Silva vs. Ortiz III. Oohhh what a run of cards this could be. If only it were that easy!

Ortiz is already lined up to fight Shamrock again (sad but true). He has confirmed it. W. Silva won't make the move over for anything less than a title shot (probably against Chuck). But all the same guys will stay in the mix and fight sooner or later. I think Hughes wins now and maybe through all of next year, but eventually GSP is the champ. Penn could win at 155 if he had the discipline to go down. Liddell beats Babalu but loses to Wandy. Ortiz beats Shamrock (in under 10 seconds this time) but he won't beat those top two ever again. We also have Anderson Silva against Rich Franklin at some point. And then there is Fedor...

I can't believe Ortiz is fighting Shamrock again. Fockin A. I'm so sick of watching those two fight. I'd honestly rather watch every painful second of Lockhart's NCAA title run again.
Matches I most want to see: Lidell v. W. Silva and Fedor v. anyone legit.

I don't think that the W. Silva/Liddell fight will happen. The logistics may not work out. I'd love to see it though.
Also to consider, the TUF 4 champs are guarenteed a title shot which may push Hughes/GSP back for awhile (assuming Hughes gets by Penn).

Good call. Had forgotten about that. You see, all this stuff is why I ended it with, 'if it were only that easy'.

I think GSP should get the shot before anyone on the TUF show because he is better than they are. Also Liddel has to win in order to fight Silva. I would really like to see Silva v. Ortiz just to see Ortiz have his ass handed to him in the form of an elbow to the grill.

The fact that the TUF 4 winners will get title shots is a seoarate but retarded issue. None of these guys was anywhere close to deserving a title shot at the time of this show. And the fact that they beat each other makes them no more deserving. To me this ranks right there with Tito v Ken III. At least that match does not mock the title belt.
