Benny "The Jet" Urquidez Don "The Dragon" Wilson Joe Lewis Paul Vizzio Rick Roufas Alvin Prouder Jean Yves Theriault Bob "Thunder" Thurman Jerry Clarke Bill "Superfoot" Wallace
These guy's were the original badasses of full contact fighting, Kickboxing, Karate etc! They fought their hearts out for the pleasure of many including myself! It's time they received some long overdue credit! MMA would not be where it is today if not for these guys. Thanks for the memories. Salute!!

Don "the Dragon" Wilson went on to become a actor. Mostly B movie and TV movies.

I'm not into MMA, but I certainly remember Joe Lewis -- Sports Illustrated had a multi-page article about him way back when, and he was in an action movie called "Jaguar Lives" where he had a big match towards the end of the movie in what looked like a castle. His bad-guy opponent fell off a ledge, end of match.
And Bill "Superfoot" Wallace is featured in Mike Chapman's book "The Toughest Men In Sports" that also features, among others, Dan Gable, Dan Hodge, Wayne Baughman, and, of course, Frank Gotch.

Don was a great fighter but truly one of the worst "actors" I have ever seen! Norris, Segal and Von Dahm looked like academy award winners compared to Don! LOL

Mark, Lewis and Wallace both were awesome fighters. They as you mentioned were double tough dudes. Glad to see you heard of them both!

Give it up for Barry McGuigan...I loved how his dad always sang "Danny Boy" before the fight

Cy, No that was Frank Dux that Von Dahm based his movie on. Bill "Superfoot" Wallace was an entirely differant fighter.
