Fight fans, This Saturday these two 154lb warriors will battle each other to see who really is the Man! The first fight was stopped in the 10th rd by TKO when Vargas's eye puffed up like a Honeydew melon! I think that Mosley win's again in a close decision due to superior hand speed and more accurate punching! Who do you pick to win the rematch?

I agree Mosley in a close one. There was a time I thought sugar was one of the best on the planet. Still do but Vargas is also a great fighter. Possibly one of the best match ups in all of boxing right now.

I used to love Vargas, but I've come to the realization that he's never won a big fight in his life. He beat Winky Wright, but only barely. I would think that Sugar Shane should be about a 7 to 1 favorite. Vargas has had too many big fights too early in his career. He's a shot fighter.

Vargas has a punchers chance. Mosely's boxing skills and speed, if he keeps to a fight plan, should win a decision.

Mosley Knock's out Vargas with a beautiful Left hook in the sixth round! The fight was a joke though as Mosley seemed to completly dominate Vargas from the start. Vargas seemed slow and appeared to have no fire in his belly as the fight went on. I don't know if the cut to 154 hurt Vargas or his skills have completly eroded. Anyway you look at it Vargas needs to call it a career! Mosley seems to have a few more good fights in him at 147! He looked very good. He was fast, accurate, and his movement was solid. The HBO boys mentioned the possibility that we might just see a Mayweather-Mosley fight. Now I could live with that!

I'd rather see Mosley vs Mayweather than de le Hoya vs Mayweather. I'm shocked that Moseley has turned his career around after the two fights with Vernon Forrest. He really looked good tonight - I just wish he was about four or five years younger.

I think Mosley still has some left in him. Even though he lost to Forrest twice. Heck Mayorga beat Forrest twice but he never was that good. I just think it was a bad matchup for mosley with forrest. As you guys know, matchups make fights. I think Mayweather would beat Mosley but i think it would be a real good fight. I actually think Oscar would have a little better chance at beating Mayweather. Just cause of styles.

Sugar Shane looked awesome. Of course, part of it was due to Vargas's inability to mount any kind of challenge, but you gotta give the old man credit; he fed Vargas a serious diet of knuckle sandwich. He does not look done to me!

Gamberro, Who do you think wins either of these fights if they ever take place? Mayweather/Mosley and Mayweather/DeLahoya? Which do you feel is the more competitive fight? Do either Mosley or Delahoya have a chance in hell of beating Floyd?

I know you didn't ask me, but here's my take.
I've always hated de la Hoya, so my opinion might be biased. Mosley beat the golden boy twice, although one of the fights could have easily gone the other way. I think any fighter that can get his jab off quicker than de lay Hoya can beat him. Did you see him fight Felix Strum? Strum beat de lay Hoya badly, with a jackhammer jab. It was a travesty that de la Hoya won the fight, because he definitely got smacked around. Both Mosley and Mayweather have quicker jabs than de la Hoya. Both are quicker than him, and I don't think he can beat either one.
I think Mayweather beats Mosley by decision. Forrest gave Mosley fits because of his hand speed and lateral movement, and Mayweather is quicker and more powerful than Forrest. Mayweaher is a bit like Roy Jones Jr, with his combination of speed and power, but he is more technically sound.
I'd love to see either of these fights, but I think the Mosley vs Mayweather fight would be more exciting.

bam, didn't see this post til now...
Hmmmm... I'm not a golden boy hater like Doug, but I do agree that Mayweather is probably the favorite. He's too talented and would fight a smart fight and not let De La Hoya take control. De La Hoya tends to fight his best when he can take control of the fight and pace it but Mayweather is too much boxer for him right now in almost every aspect.
As for Mosley/Mayweather, I'd have to think about it hard mainly because of the size difference but if I had to make a decision now, I'd go with Mayweather, but not for the reasons Doug said. I would favor him because I think he has better defensive skills and is very tough to hit and that in the end will be the difference. I agree he wins a decision but it would be real close. That said, I can see it going the other way too. This is a tough one for me to call...
