WIN Magazine's Kyle Klingman wrote an entire article on the subject of who's the greatest US wrestler, limiting the discussion to John Smith and Dan Gable. (If you feel strongly about Cael Sanderson or someone else, take your case to Kyle.) What do you think? Who would you choose? John Smith, Gable was incredible but I have to go with Smith's longevity.

It's between Bruce and John. Gable didn't wrestle long enough to be listed with these two.

Neither. Robin Reed of OSU was the greatest of all time in my opinion. Check the wrestling Hall of Fame if you want to learn more. Pinned everyone on his team, including several Gold Medalists in upper weights. He was the smallest guy on the team.

Robin Reed is an excellent choice.
May I make the case for yet another "vintage" wrestler, Henry Wittenberg? A New York City cop, he had a long career that spanned from the late 1930s into the early 50s, winning 400-500 matches. He won the gold medal at the 1948 London Olympics, and silver in Helsinki four years later.
