To learn more about Don Dickason winning the 167-pound title at the 1953 NCAAs at Penn State, read the excellent book "A Turning Point" by Jamie Moffatt and Roger Oleson. www.intermatwrestle.com/news/newsdisplay.aspx?ID=4197 This Saturday's TDR will be dedicated to the memory and strength of Don Dickason. Don Dickason, Cornell class of '59 passed away in the hospital July 17, 2006 following complications from a heart attack he suffered in April of this year. Don won the 167 pound title at the NCAA tournament in 1953, and also captured the EIWA crown that year. He was inducted into the Cornell Athletic Hall of Fame in 1987 and was a charter member of the Cornell Wrestling Hall of Distinguished Alumni that started in 2006. Don was one of Cornell's most loyal fans and he will be dearly missed. Don Dickason June 3, 1931-July 17, 2006

Thank you for sharing the photos, Ezra.
Just today I got photocopies from Auburn University Library of one of the other 1953 NCAA champs, Dan McNair, the heavyweight champ that year. I plan to scan and share the images and info at my NCAA Heavyweight Champs group. To my knowledge, McNair is still alive... tho the man he beat, defending champ Gene Nicks of OKlahoma State, who died 20 years ago.
