I got to watch Tyler Graff wrestle about 5 times and got to see Rio Rancho all in the same tourney. Iknow its not much to some of you guys back east but here in CO. its a good weekend.

Your right, it was a pretty good tournament. Graff is a monster and man handled a very good kid from Rio Rancho. Puts Graff HS record at 92-1. The 125 pounder from RR was the next best wrestler in the tourney, kids going for his 4th state title and signed with Indiana.
For a 64 team tournament there sure wasn't much depth in quality, but there were a few outstanding wrestlers.

Trusty,
Did you watch the Gold side or the Blue side. There was some good matches on the Gold side Burak vs Ortega at 171 was a good match I did not like the reffing of it but the wrestling was great and Dale Shull vs the 112 from Standley lake was also a great match. Legacy looks very strong for a run at state this year.

I watched both, and yes those were both decent matches. Shull is a very tall kid for 112. How about the 19-17 match? My son age of 8 kept explaining to me how those guys shouldn't be doing that. ("that"-being the god awful technique/skills)

He is the older brother of the kid he wrestled in the UNC finals. Graff pinned him fairly easily in the 2nd after a few takedowns and turning him once.

Sounds like a great weekend. TG is a great wrestler and very fun to watch. Colorado is one of those states that imo don't get enough recognition for some of their wrestlers. I know we will see Ponderosa in a few weeks in Garden City KS. Always a fun time to catch up with some Colorado friends.
