I think I can wait for someone else. He's probably too busy patting himself on the back to post it over here.

If its true, I can't say that I'm particularly shocked seeing as how he almost went there originally. He'll be a great get for the Maryland program.

It wouldn't surprise me. It was between Maryland and Iowa when he got out of HS. Of course, that might be why that's his rumored destination now.

Will Iowa pull a Virginia Tech on him?

Looks like another casualty of the Brands - Metcalf affair. That makes 4 if not 5 Blair boys on the Terp roster.

Will Iowa pull a Virginia Tech on him? Not a chance. Unless the AD wants a giant load of dung to hit the air circulation device.

Did he get a release? I'd be interested to see how Brands and Iowa handle this situation after they were at the mercy of Va Tech.....

There's been speculation for some time that Blasco might transfer. I don't have any info one way or the other and we've been burned too many times with potential transfers recently to get too excited until things actually happen.
However, it would be a natural fit for Blasco to come to "Blair South" to join Hudson Taylor, Brendan Byrne, and Eric Medina!! He would also fit into the lineup at 149. Medina projects as a 149/157 so he could redshirt next year and grow into 157.
Blasco wasn't one of Brand's recruits, has a lot of aid at Iowa, and isn't a projected starter there so I would guess that they would be happy to grant him a release.
Makes for an interesting projected lineup for Maryland in another year:
125 Knox/Strizki 133 Bell/Byrne 141 Krom 149 Blasco 157 Medina 165 Bradley/Surprise guest 174 Letts 184 Haines 197 Taylor Hwt Reiss/Price

^^^Surely the University of Maryland - on its way UP - will be in the NWCA top 25 dual meet rankings next season, and also finish top 25 at the 2008 NCAA Tournament. Pat Santoro's Terps absolutely will be LOADED next season and beyond. -Stove Pipe
