With this talk of the "land of 10,000 or 15,000 heavyweights" in Minnesota and Wisconsin, I thought this thread was about the women in these states, not the wrestlers.

btw, it is a well known fact that nord has tried to find his own way in this sport thus downplaying his father's identity...while it is pretty well known in Minnesota, it has been pretty well downplayed as it pertains to his college wrestling career...

No problem Gofer, there's nothing wrong some heavies, especially when it's cold!

That's a pretty cool thing-says a lot about the kid's character.

Incredibly modest, too, and had nothing but great things to say about the other guy. It's hard to root for one over the other for the starting position at heavyweight next season.

Speaking of Bob Backlund, whoever did, He wrestled for North Dakota State. Won the DII title while unseeded his senior year. That's pretty cool I think.

what are the odds of us getting some kind of crazy situation where niether can really seperate himself from the other and so they both end up splitting time for the rest of their careers? How nuts would that be to see nord one year berhow the next and so on.

that would be a little bit wild...i would think the pair will work it out...i just wish one of them could have gotten down to 197 but i know that wasn't realistic based on their size...
i still think one of them will come out on top and then the other may have to transfer...if it doesn't happen then we will have the best heavyweight tandem in the country for years to come...

How nuts would that be to see nord one year berhow the next and so on. That would be incredible...kinda like a wrestling version of Chris Leak and Tim Tebow that Florida football threw at teams this past season. That seemed to work out alright! If I were to predict (and doing so will almost guarantee it will be otherwise..my March Madness Bracket is a mess and I never in a MILLION YEARS would have taken Donahoe to win, but I digress), I believe Nord will get the nod and Berhow ends up at Augsburg or Mankato State (won't ever call it Minnesota State-Mankato). Not sure of the age or ability on the Mavericks or Augie's current HWT's. Word out from the insiders is that Nord hit the weights like mad and is "chiseled!" While that isn't a guarantee of on-the-mat success...at least his genetics came through. Saw Berhow warming up with Cole before the Michigan State dual and he is similar (albeit slightly smaller) in stature to Konrad. He is a big boy and I wouldn't feel at all bad if he were the one to get the call. I am glad that the legacy started by Billy Pierce has the potential to continue.

The picture of the Iowa Trainer that circled around the other board for a little while, he was standing with Cole in the background with a nasty scowl on his face. Looked like he was going to eat Brands if he forfeited to Cole again.
