Even though the Gophs underperformed at the NCAA's all of their losses were to all americans except 1
Ness: 2,4 Reiter: 1,6 Rivera: 5,6 Dustin: 1 CP: 3,4,5 Saf: 3, DNP Dretsch: 1, 6 Kish: 2
It shows that luck of the draw in wrestle backs can make a big difference. If Luke beat Mason, Dretsch would have had a pretty good shot at AA since Herrington FF the next round.
You obviously want them to win them all but I think they had some pretty respectable losses.

great points wrasslin, an exalt for you...
nothing to be ashamed of here as rivera's injury obviously had an affect on him...the most disappointing loss was probably rivera's second loss but mccormick is no slouch...a healthier reiter beats him next year...

That was the second time McCormick eliminated Mack, and I believe both were in the round before placing by a 4-3 score. Funny, earlier this year I was thinking how much more Mack had improved over McCormick by now, then he goes and beats him again. Anyway, when Minnesota is healed up next year, they are gonna be one heck of a tough team. Should be some good battles next year with Iowa improving and ISU's freshmen gaining a bunch of experience.

Incorrect. Mack's freshman year he was in the semi's so he didn't have to mess with the round of 12. Last year after he he got dq'd he beat Jorgensen to AA. McCormick beat Jason Borelli to place last year.

If Luke beat Mason, Dretsch would have had a pretty good shot at AA since Herrington FF the next round. The Herrington FF occurred several minutes into the match because he actually got injured during that particular match and had run out of injury time. Dretsch might have also tweaked Herrington's knee had they wrestled, but Herrington wouldn't have forfeited off the bat.
