I know Wrestlng Terp will read this one..."The victory also makes him the first wrestler from the Washington D.C. area to win a national title since the University of Maryland's Gobel Kline accomplished the feat in 1969."
There will be a news story on Channel 4 in the DC area tonight at 6 and 11 PM.
This is a good thing for all wrestling given the politicians that watch the news just like everyone else.

One thing that I'm very impresses me a lot about Glenn that many people probably don't know about him is that he doesn't drink. I saw him at the bar after the finals and Grips and I offered him a drink and politefully declined saying that he doesn't drink. If I just won a national title, I'd probably drink even if I wasn't a drinker. He was a very likeable guy too. Just thought I'd share.

Unless you consider Annapolis within the DC area, then you have to consider Navy's Dan Muethler in 1973! Regardless, it's been a long time and Glenn did a great job beating both Backes and Freddy at the same time.
Just read homerindon's post. I saw Glenn in the airport and congratulated him and he said Thank you, Sir! He's either very polite, or I look really old!!

He almost seemed overly polite from what I remember. Class act all the way.

If I just won a National title, I would be very polite as well. What's there to be rude about? Its the other guys that should be mad.

Yeah, I agree. That being said Big, Hendricks was very polite when we talked to him as well. I actually don't hate the guy anymore.
