I got there late, but only Wrestling Terp and two of Old Shamrock's brothers were there. No one made it to the reserved area upstairs.

Got there at 10:30, had to finish up after the session, the two guys at the door said it was cancelled.

Old Shamrock, brendand, grips, Dartshark, ex_fatty, myself, and fanforlife were all there. Fanforlife asked the guy at the door about the get-together and he told her that it was cancelled. So we all just hung out at the bar.

I got there at about 10:50. Terp & Shamrocco's bro's said no one else was there. I was really tired and wound up leaving after talking to those guys for a bit. I never cancelled the party. Not sure why they said that. I didn't see anyone upstairs and assumed no one showed up at 9:30 or so. The bar/party scene at Auburn Hills sucked. Tournaments need to be in striking distance to watering holes like in St. Louis and OKC. In OKC there were some tailgaters hanging out in the parking lot at Bricktown. I only saw a couple of "rigs" in the parking lot at The Palace.

I got there probably a bit after 9:00. I asked about the group and, after some confusion about the group being from Colorado, I headed upstairs. I explained to the young lady who was supposed to mind the bar for us that the timing for the gathering couldn't be exact but that I figured the others were coming. I nursed a beer for about 30 minutes. I think it was it WrestlingDoc (?) who came up there around 9:30 to see if anyone else was there.
I think part of the problem was that they were yet again unprepared for the crowds and pulled the bartender to work down stairs. It was probably easier for the manager to saw it was "cancelled" than put a bartender upstairs.
I echo Chet's opinion that the entire location was poor. One of the major reasons for attending the NCAAs is to meet up with old, and new, wrestling friends. Auburn Hills did not lend itself to that.

Agreed. I was there with the crew when they said it was "cancelled". Venue sucked.

We would have been there earlier if we were not all working the tournament.
It was hard to find a good place to go out at.

Corresponded with the athletic department today to see if we are still on track to make a bid to host the NCAAs at the Verizon Center in DC. I think it would be a great venue.
