Carr vs Guira is hilarious, almost like a cartoon launch to the back.

Is it me or does Sajidov resemble David Schultz a little?

my Russian is very limited. Big could probably help out with this much more than I. plus the commentator, Ramazan, speaks a slightly different Russian dialect from what I gather and has an "accent," if that makes sense.
Didn't really listen to what he said in the Lawal/Chamsik match except the beginning where he thinks it's going to be Sajidov and he says, "it's not Sajidov Sajid, it's Chamsulvaraev Chamsulvara!!! Bruce Lee, Bruce Lee!!!" I guess they call this wrestler Bruce Lee over there.
the funnier comments are in the Cormier/Gitinov match. After the punch Ramazan calls him "Tyson" and says something like, "I'll come to America and show you!!!"
It's classic stuff. It's garnered close to 60,000 views and it's been linked to a few different Russian sites and labeled "comedic."

Ramazan is not really a commentator, but an entertainer. He posted several times on the Russian wrestling forum saying that he even doesn't understand much of wrestling but has great fun to comment wrestling matches. I don't know when he started doing that. I have tapes from the 2000 olympics with his comments. He doesn't comment live. His comments are added to videotapes from the particular event. Then the cassettes are offered in the shops in Dagestan. He is funny or “comedic” (and everybody likes him) not only because he speaks Russian slang with special, artistic “Caucasian accent”, but also because his comments are full of funny comparisons, metaphors..... He names Chamsulvaraev Bruce Lee not because they call him BL there, but because the small Chamsulvaraev (he usually wrestles at 74) has to fight the huge Lawal. Often he describes the situation on the mat using figures from history, cinema etc. When Lawal scored his first point on push out Ramazan said: He hit Chamsulvaraev like Captain Gastello. This is understandable only to people who know Soviet history or popular heroes. Captain Gastello, an aviator in the Soviet Air Forces was a popular hero during and after the WW II. When in a fight his aircraft started to burn he made a suicide attack on German military unit on the ground. The exciting side of Ramazan's comments is that they deal only 50% with wrestling. The other half of the time he “comments” what the two wrestlers presumptively think, what their coaches think, what they say them in the breaks. When the camera shows the spectators, he starts to “comment” what the spectators think of Dagestani wrestlers. In cases, in which the camera is fixed for a moment on any girl in scarce clothing, his “comment” takes an erotic direction. He starts to suggest how girl likes etc... the Dagestani wrestlers on the mat.....

QS: Any idea what those guys are saying in their comments to your vid? oops i misread what you wrote. i thought you asked about the commentator in the actual video. the comments on YouTube I can't really make out but I know that some are not very nice. Some are commenting on how funny the commentator Ramazan is, some are cursing at Cormier, some are cursing at each other. It's not written in Cyrillic and I can't really understand all of the English transliteration. I've asked a friend and he said not to worry about it that it's nothing special. Maybe some of our Russian speaking friends can look at it and report back?

Quick, I had fun with your in the comments to: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VVx-O5_thMThis is a great montage!!! The guy who made it cut fragments from Ramazan's comments on the wrestling match and added them to appropriate situations in the fight of Cro Cop vs Josh Barnett. One who doesn't know what is going on would think it is really a comment on the fight.

I've asked a friend and he said not to worry about it that it's nothing special. Many (if even not the most of the) of the comments are extremely vulgar & racial & nationalist: vs. blacks, Jews; and mutual anti-Russian - anti-Caucasian. My favorite insult in the comments is: You are born the son of a monkey fucked by a swine.
