Another guy said he was but it was bogus, so I take nothing for granted. I've been a volunteer assistant coach at Southington High School for about 30 years and never miss the LL's or the Open. Might I know you? Probably not, the reason being that I'm still in high school. On another topic, did you make it to New Englands in New Haven this year? I saw some fantastic matches there.

Yes, it's always a great tournament by Connecticut standards. Unfortunatley, people on this forum from other parts of the country wouldn't be very impressed and they'd be right. Connecticut wrestling is impeded by many CIAC rules such as the ban on off season coaching.

Connecticut wrestling is impeded by many CIAC rules such as the ban on off season coaching. That is true, but it affects some towns more than others. My town has open mats run by a Syracuse alum, as well as a private wrestling club organized by a very experienced wrestler who is a pretty good coach. Any news on the weight loss/ certification rules for next year? I have been hearing mixed opinions.

I don't know about the weight certification rules - I leave that to those who need to know it. Sounds like you're from the Amity area. Amity always has a competitive team and is respected throughout the state.
