Suggestion: on the first day of the month, everyone with negative karma is restored to zero .

JensenS, I assume this has already been asked/answered (my best Perry Mason), but is the site software unable to be configured so that whenever a person exalts or smites an thread entry is made indicting '<from member name> has just exalted/smited <to member name>?'
Thanks.

Ok thanks. Not that I care all that much about my karma score but my karma stock is dropping like a rock today, any way I can post a call mark and sell my karma before I take a complete bath? I should have known to have bought my karma short.

It's really interesting when you sit and watch yourself drop 14 points in 20 minutes, during which time there are only 4-5 users online (including 1 or 2 invisible ones). It's kinda scary that someone seems to feel the need to use multiple identities just so they can smite people. "drive by smiting" as PB calls it. LOL! But hey, it's nothing personal, right??

That's why I think the Karma thing should be dropped. It isn't really indicative of anything. As I said somewhere else, on the Connecticut forum, you can rate a particular post from 1 to 5. At least then you have some idea what people are praising or criticizing about you.

yeah - that's my only thing. If it is attached to a thread, it could be fun. Especially one like the "who's your team" now. Just messing with people. Obviously then, it's not personal, because it's related to a post. But there are people on here now who rarely post, and yet they get smited 20+ times in one day. Then you can also sit and watch someone's drop by 20 points in an hour when there are only a few people online. When the topic of karma comes up people keep saying "oh, don't whine, it's nothing personal" -- but in those scenarios I describe above, obviously it is personal. I really don't care about my overall karma total, it just bothers me (and yes, I am probably overly sensitive) that there is someone out there (or multiple someones, I don't know), who are so bound and determined to smite me (and other people), that they are obviously going to the effort of creating multiple usernames and signing on in "invisible" mode. So, whatever. If it makes you feel better to smite me, go for it, have fun. I'm glad I can help out by giving you an outlet to vent.

Yes, Stardust, I feel the same way. It's certainly no big deal, but why even give someone the opportunity to do something malicious. When my Karma goes down, it makes me wonder if I've said something to offend someone or if maybe someone took something the wrong way.

I think instead of Karma, we should use the good old "Dart Shark" method and just give a BOOOOOOO post in response to someone when we don't like what they say, lol!

Hmmmm, Karma droppings everywhere. Who is causing all of this KS? Someone with a lot more time on their hands then they know what to do with. Stardust, Furches, Swayz, even I got some love last night. Anyone see a common theme here? I believe that the Karma postings are just another reason to encourage multiple accounts, which is not always a bad thing, but if the intent is for giving extra smites or exalts, it could be. I agree totally with my friends Stardust and Spider here. Of course my other friend Jensen is taking care of some of us and that makes things even funnier, except I am sure Jensen has better things to do. Let me give a hint, if you have an issue with someone, call them out by name and email them. I kind of figure that anyone who don't have the gonads to be man or woman enough (I know a little irony there) to say something to someones face, likely don't deserve to be heard.

My Karma was fine until the Leprechan Lynch Mob got ahold of me for my "Notre Dame Sucks" comments......but it's true.
