recently I've been getting this error message when trying to get a page to load.... should themat.com be worried or is the capacity just real low here?
"Too Many Connections There are currently too many connections to this server. Please check back again in 30 seconds."

We've drawn a solid number of posters over here, but this software that this forum runs on is limited.

Its not a software issue, its a bandwidth issue. Do you know if there is a way to purchase more bandwidth?
There are many forums on this one server. If one of the other forums gets a lot of hits, it will affect our forum and vice versa.

Find out what the bandwidth costs if available, then those of us that can can help pick up the costs.

If one of the other forums gets a lot of hits, it will affect our forum and vice versa. That is no lie! Sometimes you can get access to a more secure server but it usually costs some deneiros. A bit of advertising and donation program will help along with matters. As it is, this forum should be handle dozens if not hundreds of visitors and continual page views. It sounds a little too weak to quick.

Scribe, Its the fact that its more than just this messageboard on this server. If another board or two or more get a lot of hits it will cause ours to be halted.

Just clicked over to support. We are on server 47 (i believe) out of 107 servers. All of which play host to 1.7 million boards. Pretty heady!
Ezboard has a support area where you can bitch about your server being down. I dont see a similar area on proboards.
Is there an option to move proboard to your own server instead of theirs?

Ahh. phpBB is located on your own domain server. Ezboard and proBoards are supported on shared host servers. Learn something new everyday.
Can I guess that they have a connection limiter that disallows a certain amount of bandwidth. Or is the problem from stressed servers. One is correctable and other is likely a constant problem regardless of your bandwidth purchasing power.

I would presume each board is allotted a certain amount of bandwidth per hour/minute/half hour, etc. This would be the best way so that all the boards on this server don't go down because of a couple boards having a lot of hits.
