Barbara Walters once asked Katherine Hepburn "If you could be a tree, which kind would you be?"
If you could do a body swap with ANY wrestler, active or retired, who would it be?
Would you want to be Cael Sanderson, aka The Professor, with his perfect college record, Olympic gold medal, gorgeous wife and dream job at his alma mater?
Or maybe Dan Hodge, who was also perfect in college, a two-time Olympian, a Golden Gloves boxer, pro rasslin' champ, and a unique grip strength to make applesauce out of apples. ;-)
Or maybe someone from the early 1900s... or ancient times... or one of today's mat legends-in-the-making.
Thanks Mark

Any tall lanky wrestlers that would remind you of a praying mantis? If so, that guy!

Karelin. Virtually nobody has dominated the sport quite like Karelin did.

If I pick Chris Taylor, do I get to go off my diet and start eating donuts again?

Robin Reed because he backed down from no wrestler regardless of weight and beat them all, unlike all the wrestlers we have now that think cutting tons of weight to avoid the competition is the best way to win. Versus just nutting up and wrestling where they naturally are and taking on any challengers. Where are the Robin Reed's now? Nowhere to be found.

Robin Reed was definitely a stud of the first order. From the couple photos I've seen of him in the gear of that era -- tights, no shirt -- he doesn't look all that muscular or imposing, but... apparently he was one tough hombre on the mat. The fact he pinned much bigger men in a tryout at Iowa State, and on the ship over to the Olympics, where he got a fall over all of his teammates but one, puts him in legendary status. Mark PS For a half-dozen photos of Reed, visit my Oregon State photo album at my Vintage Amateur Wrestling Photo Annex Yahoo group sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/VintageAmateurWrestlingPhotoAnnex/

I'd want to be someone who was a dominant wrestler, then went on to succeed in life outside of the world of wrestling.

Karelin. Virtually nobody has dominated the sport quite like Karelin did. I'd have to go with Karelin as well!
