I almost never see them compete throughout the year outside of Cuba. They almost never go to Europe or Middle East to compete. They never come to USA. How do they become such good competitors with so little international competition?

Big they compete more than you think. they've gone over seas to compete at Yarygin, Aliev, World Cup, and various other tournaments in addition to Cerro Pelado, Pan Ams and of course World Championships

Makes you wonder if Venezuela is going to become the place where Cuba's second string goes until they get good on their own.
